Saturday was gorgeous and a great day to get outside. Sunday started off a little soggy and gray, but large portions of the area picked up some doses of sunshine this afternoon. Now we’re starting to see a few light showers and area of drizzle moving in a long the coast and SW corner of the state.
The next couple of days will be pretty soggy. Some areas will see between 0.5″ to 1.00″ of rain by Monday night! The rain will be heaviest right around the morning commute so it would probably be a good idea to give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning. The rain will turn into scattered showers by Monday night and will stick around through at least Tuesday if not Wednesday morning as well. Mid-week it looks like we’ll go back to a more zonal flow, but will be right on the fridge of some isolated showers. The key to the game this week will be where the jet stream is pointed. Models yesterday had it pointed right at us Wednesday through Friday, keeping showers in the forecast. Today, however, it has moved things a little closer, meaning clearer skies and slightly cooler temperatures are on tap for Thursday. I don’t think it’s going to last long, however, as models are consistently putting rain in for the weekend. As of today, they’ve bumped up the timing and put some decent rainfall for most of Friday. The showers look to hold on through Saturday and possibly into Sunday. We’ll keep following the models and update you on any changes.
Have a great week!
